When we lock ourselves up looking at our phones, we miss out on so many things. Moments that we won’t remember, talks that’ll never come, a life that keeps moving. Leaving us in the past.

We lock ourselves up so much that we basically lose the freedom to move and we “get” behind bars.

We used a 35mm fixed lens to see these people in context without being seen. We created a cold atmosphere to feel their loneliness and just enough darkness to see their faces illuminated by the phones. We use a cinema aesthetic to get images as real as they come, like frames of a movie that unfortunately we’re all condemned to watch all the time, everywhere.
