Overview

Background

Apple’s October product launch was to have huge artistic and creative focus. The event was being held in Brooklyn, New York, and new devices geared toward creative professionals were to be announced.

We were tasked with designing an identity for the event that celebrated creativity in all its forms. The visual theme would be used to generate buzz for the event and carry over to the day of the launch.

Invitations to Apple events are seen as clues to what will be announced. Knowing this, our objective was to make each and every invite design unique to build intrigue and excitement around the event.

Our deliverables included email invitations, the design of the event space, access passes and collectible giveaways and an animation that played at the show.

Idea

Apple designs tools to empower creators to do their very best work. This was the inspiration behind the event’s “There’s more in the making.” theme. Building off this, we asked artists from around the world to create their own Apple logos using our products. We then used their logo designs to make each and every element of the identity entirely unique.

Execution

Guided by the theme, “There’s more in the making,” we invited artists from around the world to design their own Apple logos for the event. All told, hundreds of original designs were created on Apple devices.

With a multitude of logos on hand, we set about making each invitation to the event unique. Word of these one-of-a-kind designs quickly got out, generating a tremendous amount of excitement.

On the day of the event, the logos adorned banners, badges, and collectible giveaways. This culminated with a logo animation at the start of the show, celebrating a wide range of creativity in all its forms.
