Description

While our daily lives become more and more digital, some everyday objects simply become obsolete. Eradicated by technical revolution, they fall into oblivion. Which is why we came up with the MUSEUM OF OBSOLETE OBJECTS.An ongoing online exhibition which helps the generations of today and tomorrow remember or discover the lost technical marvels of the 20th century. From the abacus and the incandescent light bulb to the compact cassette and the computer mouse, the Museum Of Obsolete Objects currently exhibits over a dozen videos. Each video tries to capture the physical appearance of an artifact as well as the socio-cultural practice that comes with them – and people still cherish. The response to our museum project was overwhelming. But in this case, you can rely on more than views and likes alone to measure the success.

In our museum, visitors become curators, contributors and academic experts. Thousands of subscribers discuss and vote on current and future exhibition pieces. Every suggestion and every contribution makes the museum even better. History’s most significant inventions are preserved for all time. And lots of people have been reminded that there were major innovations even before the computer. And for this we owe our thanks, again, to the digital revolution.
