Our ads were written in computer code and placed on noticeboards around 7 university campuses.To the average observer the ads made little sense.But to these programmers it was actually a set of instructions, asking them to enter Nokia’s app competition, where they had to program their very own app for the chance to win a dream job.Running the code in their developer software automatically opened the competition registration page in their browser.
Outcome
After being told there were 300 tech students in the Universities targeted, our target was 100 applications.
In the first week alone, we received over 500 applicants (512 ). Including applicants from universities we hadn’t even targeted.A unique way to filter through applicants and find the perfect candidate, without the need for a single interview.
