It was imperative that to make an impact, capture our audiences’ attention and create the credibility for Windows apps in the market, we were required to do something which is out of the box, clutter breaking and innovative. Nokia in association with NDTV network launched the ‘First-Ever Mobile Application Reality Show’. A reality show first of its kind - Nokia Lumia Your Wish Is My App - gave an opportunity to the consumers to submit unique and exciting mobile application ideas that had the potential to be developed into successful apps for the Windows Phone Store. A 9 episode ‘app reality TV show’ sought to provide Nokia an opportunity to become synonymous with creativity, imagination and innovation. In fact, the whole concept of the competition was to underline that anyone can create an app and the high number of entries will suggest a lively entrepreneurial spirit across India.

Outcome

We received over 38,000 suggestions for applications, showcasing the consumer's enthusiasm for such initiatives.

Roping influential tech evangelists to propagate and judge the finalists added lot of credibility to the contest. Nokia as a brand got the reputation of extensively working with developers to grow the range of apps they offer to the consumers.

Nokia brand imagery improved to being innovative & technology driven.
