OVERVIEW

Description

We created the Food Pixel Project: the world’s greatest collection of local flavors condensed into food pixels and exhibited in a special corner with a dispenser machine where people could choose their future destination on a tablet and then get the pixel and taste them from the machine that would take them to places around the world. Through the monitors, they could see the different cultures from the country they decided to experience.

Execution

For all destinations, we created a food pixel condensing a fascinating local flavor into a video story, revealing its extraordinary value for the local culture. Along with a food engineer, Samsung turned its fundamental digital unit – the pixel – into the sensorial bit of an intense savouring experience. So that anyone could experience a real worldwide travel through places, people and traditions.

Outcome

Results in Italy since launch on 01/05/2015 has:

- 9.000 food pixels re-ordered after the first day

- 15.000.000 world journeys completed

- 360.000 hours spent in multi-sensory immersivity
