Description

Decorative stickers to reflect popular culture and the reality of personalized MacBook Airs around the world display in sequence in time to the musical score. A majority of the iconography is real, while a few were created for specific transitions moments.

Execution

The execution of this celebratory animated film had a few key facets: curating MacBook stickers, the animation style and its musical score.

It was crucial for the range of stickers to reflect popular culture and the reality of personalized MacBook Airs around the world. A majority of the iconography is real, while a few were created for specific transitions moments.

The animation style had to be as simple as the idea: rough stop-motion felt like the right choice. Playful and not precious: the featured MacBook Air laptops are not pristine and show real wear&tear, a subtle additional way to express the love people have for their laptops through sustained usage.

The music choice was not easy, but the track felt like the right gamble… We worked with the producer to refine and re-edit his fun and powerful track to picture - its dramatic horns came to great contrast with the light and playful stickers featured throughout.

Lastly, in the same spirit of playfulness, we broke one more rule by making the Apple logo flicker back to its original color stripes for a moment.
