Background

The background was to illustrate the new filmmaking elements of the new iPhone 14.

The brief was to outline the new storytelling abilities of the iPhone 14. The breadth of the advances of the new iPhone was a challenge; how to not to consume the ad with technical information but to engage the viewer in the medium of which the iPhone has become such an essential tool of - cinema.

The key objectives of the piece was to provide the audience with a cinematic experience which was grand and imaginative whilst also feeling palpable and possible. Possibility was really the key phrase we were exploring in the edit. By taking the audience on a journey through the filmmaker's eyes, all the way to the poster of the film at the end our objective was to empower people to use this new storytelling tool that can fit inside their pocket.

Execution

'Chase' follows the journey of a filmmaker capturing an array of different scenes for his film with the iPhone 14.

We begin with a chicken being chased down an alleyway by the filmmaker which follows into an action packed kung-fu like scene transitioning into a high tempo dance studio and then into a stop frame animation scene.

The filmmaker really starts to exercise the boundless opportunities of storytelling with the iPhone 14 as he takes us on action vehicles, through woodland, snow and on to a helicopter shot through mountains - the frame goes still and the camera pulls back showing the image to be of an advertisement for the film we have witnessed the production of, the camera continues to pull back revealing the title 'Chase'.
