How can we help blind or visually impaired people to make communicating with their smartphones easier?

Execution

For over 650,000 people in Germany alone, what seems the simplest way to communicate is a daily challenge! Because they are blind or visually impaired.

The visible shield embossed with Braille allows blind and visually impaired people to use something that’s indispensable to them: their sense of touch.

Outcome

The Visible Shield was developed together with blind and visually impaired people. For two weeks they tested the shield in typical every day situations. The result: The visible shield makes every day life easier and improves the mobile phone user experience significantly.
