The time is 4:19 inside of a nondescript home in Anytown, USA. The rooms in the home are quiet--a refrigerator hums, a pot sits on the stove, the bathroom glows--but there is looming suspense. Then the clock turns 4:20. And the scene explodes as weed takes over the house: weed bubbles out of the toilet; a pot boils over with weed; a piggy bank explodes with weed; the fridge bursts open and spills weed everywhere. The mood is constructed like an 80s slapstick horror movie, but the reveal of something as silly as weed takes the piss out of the tension. All effects are practical and, yes, it’s real weed.
