This film personifies the two shoes of a blade runner. The one shoe that helps him win the challenges thrown by life, and the other which is nothing but a constant reminder that he is missing something. One is what makes him, the other what breaks him. The athlete doesn’t need the shoe he’ll never wear, but he can use one more of the shoe that lets him run against the odds.Adidas Odds is that pair of shoe.

The film was launched during the Paralympics. It was an attempt to inspire more people to overcome the odds and to honor the parathletes competing in the Paralympics.

The film opens on the right running shoe, lying in a dusty corner of the house. It looks dejected and unused. The VO starts at this point. “I am the right that was lost in an accident.”

We now cut to the left shoe of the pair. It has adorned the leg of a blade-runner. It is running on the field. The VO says, “I am the left that survived.”

The film now cuts back and forth between the left and the right shoe. One running in the field, exercising in the gym, wearing off, getting torn, taking all the sweat and slog of an athlete. While the other sits in the house forgotten, dusty, useless.

The VO gives voices to both these shoes, telling the story of how one empowers the blade-runner to go forth and achieve his dreams and destinations, while the other, only a constant reminder of what’s lost.

Voice Over:

I am the right that was lost in an accident.

I am the left that survived.

I am the silent spectator enjoying the perks of an aftermath.

I am a riveting tale of those who won’t give up.

I sit relaxed in the comforts of the closet.

I swell up every night after every run.

I am the part that has given up.

I am the part that just wouldn’t.

I am as good as new.

I am old, ugly and torn.

I am a chapter in history.

I am science in motion.

I am a reality that wouldn’t change.

I am at the cusp of changing everything.

They look at me and remember their past.

They watch me and see a whole new future.

I make him feel that they have one less.

I remind them that even one is enough.

I am the one that’s not required.

I am the one he wouldn’t mind having another one of.

We then cut to the tight shot of the feet of athlete who just have a left foot wearing a left shoe, kicking the right shoe which is on the floor (which is of no use to him). We see another left foot dropping next to left shoe which is worn by the athlete with the logo appearing next to it.

The VO here says, “Adidas Odds. An ever pair of two lefts or two rights, for those who run against the odds.”
