Overview

Why is this work relevant for Entertainment?

"Work" and "personal value" are serious issues. The real stories of hardworking individuals are filled with more pain than fantasy.

We redefine the notion of a "dream job." Real workers portray their own stories. Through a cinematic lens, we present hyper-realistic narratives that showcase authentic emotions.

This allows Taiwanese workers to reconsider the purpose of "work" and rediscover their own value.

Background

104 is Taiwan’s leading job search website brand, the best platform for job seekers to find their ideal jobs.

Surveys indicate that, apart from salary, young people are most concerned about whether the content of their job aligns with their values and personal growth. Therefore, the crucial mission of this campaign was to help job seekers find value in their work.

Describe the creative idea

We started the conversation by focusing on the ultimate aspiration of every worker – a “dream job.”

“Lots of money, little work, a short commute – is that really a dream job?”

“Dreams have nothing to do with work.”

“In this world, is there really such a thing as a dream job?”

We established a company, “Dreams Unlimited,” because we believe that every person who visits the 104 website is looking for a job worth investing their passion and life in, a dream job that aligns with their ideals.

We challenged the stereotypes of a “dream job” by showcasing three real workers: It’s not about finding a dream job, but about finding a job where they are willing to invest their passion, find joy in it, and see the value of their work.

From this perspective, every job can be a dream job.

Describe the strategy & insight

Taiwan is known as the “island of overwork,” ranking 6th in the world in terms of working hours, even more than Japan and South Korea.

The relationship between "work and value" has long been a subject that Taiwanese workers have questioned and pondered. In Taiwanese society, the phrases "work-life balance" and "don't put too much effort into your work," have become growing trends. Amidst a chorus of voices declaring, "A job is just a job,” 104 chose to go back to the basics, focusing on the value of work itself. This has encouraged the public to discuss, "What is a dream job?" It has not only given new value to work, but also allowed workers to discover their own value.

Describe the craft & execution

In the video we produced, we did not hire actors to act out the stories of workers. Instead, we found real workers to describe their own experiences. Yet the video was executed in a manner very different from the average interview. The director adeptly grasped the different personalities of the characters and employed fluent camera movement and editing, so that even though they were all amateurs, their presentations far exceeded everyday realism, resulting in brilliant narratives with the look and feel of a movie.

Describe the results

- 2,190,000 Clickthroughs

- CV submissions grew over the previous year by 38.7%

- In the comments section, we can see netizens reflecting on the "meaning of work" and "self-worth."
