BriefExplanation

CBS and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum partnered to create this special CBS Cares PSA to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27. This event, which falls on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, was proclaimed by the United Nations as an international day of commemoration to honor the victims of the Nazi Holocaust. The PSA seeks to personalize the Holocaust by showing the faces and names of children whose lives were tragically cut short. Family photos were used to show the children’s lives before the Nazis came and to reinforce how much these families lost. The photos are accompanied by a haunting song written by Ilsa Weber, who later perished with one of her sons on arrival at Auschwitz. The PSA aired in Primetime and other Dayparts on the CBS Television Network, and was promoted on digital and social media by CBS and the Museum.
