Why is this work relevant for Entertainment?

More than a commercial that tells the parents what they have to do, Stop VEO an organization fighting for kids’right to grow without violence, released a 3min short film about a mother an her son and what we’re actually loosing when we chose educational violence.

To come to educational violence means to give up on communicating with a child. It reduces one of the strongest relationship to an absolutely nonconstructive gesture. The film, entitled « THE WORDS I WON’T SAY » illustrate the loss of this sharing moment.

Background

Recently voted in France (40 years after Europeans countries like Sweden), a law against child spanking finally bans all forms of « educational violence ». But despite of the law, and after centuries of existence, this habit is still very common in french’s homes. So, how to raise awareness among parents of the harmful effect of spanking without them to feel a strong questionning of their whole education method ?

Not telling parents what they should do, but showing them what they are loosing when they choose educational violence.

A 3min short film released in France on TV, Cinéma, Online. PRs also accompany the launch of the film and help started the conversation around the cause in media.

Describe the outcome

Thanks to a special targeting toward parenthood media & France's main daily news websites, the film has created a massive conversation about child spanking. Adrien Taquet, the French state secretary of childhood & family has supported the campaign and its message across the Internet and French newspaper.
