BriefExplanation
What if we held our breath and dove deep beneath the surface of life online? What colorful characters would we meet? What amazing new places would we visit? What unknown realities would we uncover?
This is the next frontier of connected life. A place where the lines between the digital and physical worlds have been blurred and the rules have been rewritten almost overnight.
Blurring the lines between advertising and entertainment, “The Most Dangerous Town On The Internet” is an original brand documentary series that takes us to these faraway places and introduces us to real people, and real places behind today’s most malicious online crimes.
EntrySummary
EPISODE 1
In Episode 1, we visit a tiny town in the foothills of Romania, Râmnicu Vâlcea, known as “Hackerville.” In one year, the cybercriminals of Râmnicu Vâlcea stole over 1 billion dollars through illegal cyber-activity and scams.
The cybercriminals of Romania empty bank accounts, scam online shoppers, and expose the deepest secrets of the rich and famous. They've hacked high-profile individuals such as Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, and even the president of the United States. They've hacked high security institutions, and organizations such as the Pentagon, the CIA, NASA, and Google, as well as almost every major military organization in countless countries.
In this film, we visit "Hackerville," the capital city of Bucharest, and beyond to meet the criminals and law enforcement at the center of the cybercrime phenomenon.
MediaSpend
We’re taking the audience on a journey, exploring one of the most relevant issues of our time, cybercrime. Shinning a light where there was none, going deep into a world that is foreign and inaccessible.
Too often in documentary filmmaking, music falls by the wayside. This piece needed to be full of life. But not slick or polished. It will be gritty. Fast-paced. Live. Raw. In the moment.
There is a gorgeous dimension to Râmnicu Vâlcea, and there’s a gritty dimension. The music composition lives in both dimensions. It is both alive, and dark.
