The idea, “Flavoured by mood”, continued in “House of Little Moments” Season 3. We created a story with providing two different perspectives which allows viewer chooses their prefer perspective to cut into the story and savor it. Viewers will see each character's own interpretation but also understand another. All these flavors are going to be completely savored by the viewers.

For The Original Flavour 1/2, an unchanged man and a fickle woman came across in House of Little Moments.

Are they a couple? Friends? Or only strangers? These terms are not enough to describe and explain their relation because there are so many choices in their fantasy relation. It is not bad to watch the change of these two characters’ mood and feelings and also feel original and simple life.

The creative concept: “Flavoured by moods”.

We created a fictional noodle shop, “House of Little Moments”, as the background in our story. The owner of the noodle shop makes fusion Uni-Noodle recipes that are inspired by customers moods.

We set up specific target audience, three different generations: young men and women in their thirties, middle-aged couples in their forties and the cross-generational relationship between mothers and daughters. Then come up with three different situations corresponding to the target groups: the start of love, marriage crisis and repairing the Parent-Child Relationship.

For moods comes more naturally to the human heart, House of Little Moments season 3 campaign continued to capture the moods in a warm and creative way.

Script of The Original Flavour 1/2

Scene 1: In the noodle shop

See each customer in the noodle shop from the owner’s angle, and the owner is like doing a roll call, narrating his customers in his mind.

Owner’s VO:

Miss Poached Egg, Mr. 3 Spoons Chili, Miss Beauty without green onions, Mr. Handsome with garlic, 2 Side Dishes Sisters, Miss Q, who loves al dente noodles and a couple, who always shares a bowl of noodles…

Owner’s VO:

There are hundred types of people in this world. And there are a hundreds people with different characteristics in a noodle shop.

The owner quickly puts the noodle into the bowl, pouring the sauce on the noodle. Then he pours a glass of ice water, placing it besides the noodle and goes out the front desk.

Owner’s VO:

I already got used to it, cooked different flavor for each different customers. Some like to change the flavor whereas some never change.

The male guest who sits at the table 5 by the window is looking at a woman who sits at the table 3 by the window who is gentle and graceful. He is so concentrated so that he could not notice the owner already walks to his side.

Owner: Here, your original minced pork noodle soup.

The man: Ah, thanks.

The owner goes back to the front desk, looks at these two regular guests.

Owner’s VO: It’s just like life may change sometimes

Two regular guests say hi to each other, like they are old friends and run across each other in the noodle shop.

Two tables start to slide from the end to the center of the scene, and combine to one table, then the man picks up the woman’s hand…

Owner’s VO: but sometimes won’t.

The previous scene is the fantasy of the owner.

The real situation still acts as the two guests sit in their regular seat, eating the noodle without any change.

The cleft of the story.

The screen will divide into two sides, each side will lead the audience to see the story from each character’s view.

Scene 2: View of Mr. A

Mr. A, the most unchanged man on earth.

In the noodle shop, there are a few guests is having their noodles.

And there is a gentle and graceful woman who sits by the window, with half-up and short neat bang hair style.

The woman nibbles at her noodle with graceful movements. In order to avoid the soup stuck on her mouth, she also holds a handkerchief to wipe mouth, very care about her demeanor.

Mr. A’s VO: This girl is probably the most fickle person I’ve ever seen in my whole life.

There’s a man sitting at the table 5 by the window and observing the woman.

And he just sits at the opposite of the woman by the window, and they are separated by a table in the middle, but no one sits there.

Mr. A’s VO: She is very different whenever I meet her.

Mr. A starts thinking of the woman in his memories.

She often comes to the noodle shop with various images, like a fancy shirt with gold necklace, Japanese mori girl style with camera, agent style with sunglasses…

She will also change her character to fit her different style.

So every time when she comes to the noodle shop, she will look like a totally new different person.

Mr. A’s VO: Once, she dressed and acted like a tough guy; she also looked like a sentimental hipster who is enthusiastic about photography.

Last time, she even made me think of the double agent from a movie.

The only thing remains unchanged is probably that she’s sitting in the same seat at the same moment. Just right in front of my seat.

Mr. A glances the clock on the wall, it’s 5:30 pm.

It’s not a busy time of the noodle shop, so there’s only a few people in the shop.

But the woman still picks the seat which is opposite to him.

Mr. A’s VO: And what she ordered is also changing all the time. Minced pork noodle soup with scramble egg, Kimchi seafood noodle soup, Beef noodle soup with raw egg, Bak kut teh noodle soup with pudding, Noodles with minced sauce, and so on.

She has almost tasted every kind of noodles on the menu.

Sometimes, she even freely adds the side dishes in the noodles as if she is creating her own secret menus.

The scene shows the close-up of the different noodle dishes quickly.

And the woman eats the noodle with zest in her different characters.

The scene turns back to the real situation.

The owner serves the noodle for the man.

The dish that the man orders is an original flavor noodle without any topping and a glass of ice water.

“Owner: Here is your original minced pork noodle.”

“Mr. A: Thank you.”

Mr. A takes a sip of the ice water to let his throat comfortable, then starts having his noodle unhurriedly.

The woman who finished her noodle takes the mirror to check her appearance.

The man looks at her, and their eyes meet.

Mr. A’s VO: Is she an actress? Or only a girl who loves cosplay?

The woman wears a strange and crazy hair style with thick and hot rose lip today.

And the woman finds that Mr. A is looking at her, she suddenly staring back to him, that makes Mr. A feel so nervous, lowers his head instantly.

Mr. A’s VO: Don't get me wrong. I don’t have a crush on her. Not at all.

I’m just a boring observer.

And the woman is seemed like think of something, puts down the chopsticks and rushes out of the noodle shop.

Mr. A is caught off guard by her behavior, but what he can do is continuing to eat his noodle.

Mr. A’s VO: As boring as I am, a piece of memo should be enough for my daily life.

Central parting for 25 years, fine rim glasses for 13 years.

Every day, jogging at 6 am, going to work at 8 am and leave office at 5 pm.

I come to this noodle shop, having the same menu and sit in the same seat three days a week.

One original minced pork noodle soup with a cup of ice water.

After dinner, take bus No. 287 across the street. Get off the bus one stop early and walk home.

Listen to Lisa Ono’s The Girl from Ipanema before bed, repeating three times before I fall asleep.

The scene turns to show the daily life of Mr. A

In the morning, Mr. A jogs in the Park, out of breath. Then he goes back to home and prepares for the work. He looks at the mirror to check his outfit and appearance. Arrives at the office and says morning to his colleagues. The punch time clock is 8 o’clock sharp, Mr. A soon punches his time card. After work, Mr. A eats the noodle in the noodle shop. Then he takes the bus to go home, gets off the bus and has a short walk to home. Mr. A puts on his pajamas and ready for bed, then turns off the light.

Mr. A’s VO: Every day, I live a familiar life, having a familiar taste, without any change. I guess, when my life comes to an end, people may engrave my epitaph “The Most Unchanged Man on earth” on my gravestones.

A few days later, Mr. A comes to the noodle shop as usual.

And the woman already sat at the seat which is opposite of Mr. A's regular seat.

The woman is so different today, but the difference of today differs from before.

The woman dresses in a simple white shirt, grey pants with fine rim glasses and lets her hair down.

Mr. A sits and says: As usual. One original minced pork noodle.

And the boss apologizes and says: I’m sorry. That’s sold out today. The last one was just ordered by this lady.

Mr. A feels embarrassed and says to the owner: I’ll come another day…

Almost at the same time, the woman says to the owner: I can change to another dish…

The owner points the couple who are sharing a bowl of noodle and says to Mr. A and the woman: Don’t worry. I can split the noodles in half for you. It's a special menu for the original.

Mr. A and the woman look at each other with embarrassed faces and hesitate to answer.

Mr. A starts a daydream:

[Scene of Mr. A’s Daydream]

Owner serves the special dish to their table and says: Here, it’s your "The Original Flavour 1/2." “And it’s your "The Original Flavour 1/2."

Mr. A’s VO: Today, she is the most special version of her own I’ve ever seen. She wears a white shirt and glasses without make-up. She doesn’t dress up today.

Mr. A and the woman eat their special noodle dish at the same table.

Watching the woman eating her noodle at ease, Mr. A suddenly understands that this outfit may be the original her.

Mr. A shows his appreciation while eating his noodle.

Mr. A’s VO: She’s never been such unspecial, that’s why she is so special. Is this original her? I don’t know.

The scene jumps back to the real situation.

Mr. A and the woman eats their special noodle dish at each table.

Mr. A’s VO: But, at least we have one thing in common. That is we are only halfway full on the same day at the same moment. I guess I’m gonna be hungry before bed.

SUPER: Flavoured by moods. Uni-Noodle.

Scene 3: View of Miss B

Miss B, the most fickle woman in the world.

Scene: In Miss B’s apartment.

In a messy apartment, the angle of view goes along the entrance into the inside of the house.

There are many finished instant noodle bowls on the table which has been not cleaned out for several months, the chairs are dumped everywhere, the floor, the sofa, the toilet and the balcony... there are smashed paper everywhere.

The take is shot deeply along the way till to the bedroom, a long-haired woman lies on the floor bedside the bed, and her face is covered by a pillow, looks like the scene of the crime...

Miss B’s VO: If one day you see this, the house is a mess and a woman lying on the floor, not moving.

The woman who lies on the floor suddenly twitches her body, then she takes the pillow off and takes a breath.

And she speaks like the end of the world coming.

Miss B’s VO: Do not rush to call the police, because she is.... most likely just looking for inspiration.

Miss B: “Ah-! Nothing! Nothing! Nothing!!”

Miss B’s VO: I’ve written a lot of funny and interesting scripts since I became a screenwriter 5 years ago. But this time, I’ve run out of ideas. Could it be that my creativity comes to an end?

Do I lack of life experiences? Or, should I break up more times?

I’ve tried many different ways to call back my god damn inspiration.

Finally, I’m forced to use my last resort to cosplay various roles to image their different lives.

I’m doomed if this still doesn’t work.

The TV is broadcasting the drama, Miss B sits in the living room and stares blankly at her past works.

Miss B sits in front of the desk with lots of hair clips on her head,

she sits in the library reading lots of books,

she does the handstand in the living room,

She pulls her hair while doing the yoga.

A various ways to stimulate her inspiration.

Then she picks up the trash with the homeless together and looks so frustrated.

The scene goes back to the woman dresses in different outfits, fancy shirt with gold necklace, mountaineer's outfit with the camera, a black leather catsuit with sunglass, then the scene jumps back to the apartment at the end, the woman is running out of the idea, lying on the floor and feels helpless.

Miss B’s VO: I’m having the most horrible difficulty in writing. I’m like an ant on the pan and only one place can ease my anxiety. This noodle shop always gives me a sense of security I’m familiar with.

Miss B walks dejected to the noodle shop, and sits by the window.

She wears her hair half-up today, eats the noodle gracefully.

Miss B’s VO: Surprisingly, I found something unusual just like aliens. A man who stays the same every single day.

Along Miss B’s sight, there’s a man who dresses in an office outfit, wears his hair a central parting and fine rim glasses sits opposite her. The man has a sip of ice water, eating the noodle slowly.

Miss B’s VO: I often see him in this noodle shop, three times a week. He always wears a white shirt and grey suit pants in the same style, carrying a leather suitcase. And every time, he always orders one classic minced pork noodle soup.

Before eating, he will have a sip of ice water. Undo the first button of his shirt, fold his glasses and put it on the left side, take off the watch and place it on the right side and start digging in. After finishing the meal, he puts on his watch and glasses in sequence.

It just occurred to me once that I want to keep a time record for his actions.

I’m not sure whether it is a coincidence or an accurate calculation.

During Miss B’s observation time, Mr. A finishes his noodle in a regular speed.

Miss B takes the mobile and pauses the meter.

The time just stops at eight mins 30 secs.

Miss B lifts the corners of her mouth curve up, feels satisfied with the result of her experiment.

Miss B’s VO: Every time, it takes 8 mins and 30 seconds to finish one bowl of noodle soup precisely.

Every time I see him, he remains unchanged.

Every day, every day, all the same.

On that day, Miss B dresses in a country girl outfit and starts at Mr. A.

Mr. A breaks out in a cold sweat

Miss B’s VO: One day, while I was staring at his unchanged central parting and found dandruff, I suddenly had an idea!

She suddenly thinks of something, she rushes out of the noodle shop, even has not finished her noodle.

Miss B’s VO: This man will be a model for the hero in my new script! After having such decision, I seemed to be saved by the Savior. My life renewed.

The woman is at home, working day and night, she wears glasses and pajamas, madly typing her script.

Those instant noodle bowls are stacked next to her.

She is so satisfied with the script, prints them out, then finally falls asleep.

In the morning, Miss B opens the closet.

There’s a whole row of simple white shirts.

She takes one out and puts it on.

She looks in the mirror, white shirt grey pants, hair down, wearing a fine rim glasses, clear and refreshing.

Miss B’s VO: Or I should say, I went back to be unchanged again.

Miss B dresses in simple and clean, comes to the noodle shop.

Mr. A sits and says: As usual. One original minced pork noodle.

Mr. A and Miss B say hi to each other, like they are old friends and run across each other in the noodle shop.

Two tables start to slide from the end to the center of the scene, and combine to one table, then the man picks up the woman’s hand…

Miss B’s VO: On again, off again. So, dramas can remind you sometimes that it’s not too bad to live original.

The previous scene is the fantasy of the owner.

Mr. A finishes his noodle.

And Miss B pauses the meter.

The time stops at 4 mins 15 secs, a half of the regular time for one bowl of noodle.

Miss B feels satisfied with the result of her experiment.
