Cooking is a complex sensory-spiritual experience. Working with various ingredients, being exposed to smells and tastes, taking part in the act of creation – it puts everyone into a different state of mind.

Gastropolis' website is designed for those who are interested in cooking and culinary; and are open and ready to improve her/his cooking skills.

We’ve created a website that gives an unusual, mesmerizing visual experience, taking the viewer on an infinitive culinary loop journey inside the mind-blowing dimensions of five different cuisines: Hungarian, Japanese, Indian, Italian and French. Thus generating curiosity and excitement about the various cooking courses of Gastropolis.

We turned their website into a mesmerizing experience no one has seen before – and every hypnotizer would envy.

The aim was to bring back the feeling of cooking; we wanted the user to experience him-/herself in the act of working with various ingredients, depending on the culinary style of the specific cuisines.

The endless loop of this culinary journey required 53 individually drawn vector files. It took more than 600 hours to create (including conceptualizing, scripting, designing, drawing, colouring, rendering, building the technical background).

This mesmerizing effect was created by showing the detailed preparation/cooking/serving phases of the traditional dishes of 5 different cuisines (Hungarian, Japanese, Italian, French, Indian).

The psychedelic music of the website was created by DJ Titusz, one of the most famous DJ’s in Hungary; all the sounds were recorded at the cooking school, and only the sounds generated by the actual kitchen equipment were sampled.
