Description

Teens in Hong Kong are becoming more and more individualistic and ironically powerful social network tools makes them more self-centered, earning likes instead of being truly connected.

However, there is one authentic activity that has always been a fabric of the Hong Kong local culture, and when the young and young at heart gather, they express themselves freely and immerse in the intimate rapport that virtual connection can never replace.

It is karaoke. They sing. They drink. They feel great.

Execution

The Coke bottle was the product and also the medium.

We just want to use it in humbly small but genuine ways to make Coke as part of teens karaoke culture. This expanded karaoke occasion not only in a particular place like KTV but anytime and anywhere in their daily life.

The answer is very simple: turn a bottle of Coca-Cola into a karaoke microphone, so that teens can enjoy singing and drinking in one go.

Introducing KARAOKE COKE. We transformed the bottle cap into a mini Bluetooth speaker and microphone, with quality sound and reverb effect. Pair it with your mobile phone and open your favorite music app to have instant karaoke entertainment and refreshment just in one bottle anytime anywhere.

Outcome

In a challenging teens world when they have that “been there and done that” attitude, it is always tough to impress them, not to mention surprise them. Yet we have not done so badly in wow-ing them with a new KARAOKE COKE that sings, turning demanding heads and picky eyeballs.

Started with a couple of paid KOL, we organically attracted more than 100 earned KOLs who live-broadcasted their KARAOKE COKE performances, receiving over 2 million views and 45 thousand likes within a month.

It became a new star in their natural karaoke gathering anywhere they pleased, which makes their connection moments undefinedly creative and authentically local. Whether in Karaoke lounges or out and about, KARAOKE COKE not only became a star accessory for getting together, it became part of teen culture.

Ubiquity now has a distinctive character, it sings.
