The “Why Not?!” films brought together youth with diverse struggles to represent the new line of Russell Westbrook’s collaboration with Jordan Brand. All of the real people in the film have experienced an obstacle fueled by the discouragement of society, just like Westbrook himself. We use Westbrook’s story as an outline that guides the youth through their struggles and by the end, they continue in Westbrook’s footsteps and succeed despite oppression. The films are personally close to Westbrook, not just because they tell his story but also because the featured people and locations are from Hawthrone, California, the community Westbrook grew up in.. Through this campaign, the characters in the film and, hopefully, Jordan Brand’s audience can tune out fear, doubt and pressure by asking the question that got Westbrook through his own hardships: why not?
