BriefExplanation
The film is a collection of 6 ten-second short stories. Each one involves someone in a peculiar or unique situation that requires them to seek an answer or request from a voice-activated device. For example, one story features a man proudly looking at his new tattoo on his back. He pauses and asks a voice-controlled device how to spell “eternal”. As the device begins to spell, the man’s face turns in horror as he realizes the word is misspelled permanently on his back. He then asks the device for a nearby tattoo removal. These short stories feature a variety of characters from diverse backgrounds who experience a unique, yet relatable moment.
EntrySummary
The majority of these short stories will be easy for anyone from any background to understand. Each spot features a voice-controlled device that allows users to control smart-devices such as lights or temperature, listen to music, or answer questions.
Implementation
The casting process for this project was incredibly unique. While we are sharing 6 spots here, we actually shot 162 spots over 15 days. This meant we were casting for over 200 unique roles (not to mention 6 animals). We brought in hundreds of people across two continents. Once the casting was complete, we created a wall of photos, pins, and string that would make any conspiracy theorist proud. We mixed and matched people into different spots to make sure the 162 spots would feel both diverse and relatable to anyone who happened to see multiple spots in a row.
