Last summer, Spotify launched its biggest worldwide campaign ever to promote its Free, ad-supported service. The campaign centered around guilty pleasure songs, something everyone can connect with. And we encouraged listeners not to hide it, but instead to love what they love. We created an action-packed film trailer shown in cinemas, on TV, and online, that featured two unlikely characters who bond over their mutual love for Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”, in a strange way.

As young people swarmed to see the summer blockbusters, we released our film trailer. No trailer is complete without an unforgettable soundtrack. One that you literally can’t get out of your head. In Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” we found the perfect “guilty pleasure” song to juxtapose our action-packed chase film trailer.
