"Mudabbal" is a short film about four friends, Fayez (A Proud Champion), Mehrej (A Sad Clown), Sanid (A Distracted Colonel), and Malek (An Old King), who come together to eat at Fayez's restaurant and play a game. The film is shot from the perspective of the hero character, Fayez. It follows the group as they arrive at the restaurant, each with their brown paper bags, remove their costumes, and sit down to eat when Sanid asks Malek "Where is the star?" to which Malek replies, "He is not up for it." His friends stare in awe at Fayez's giant delicious-looking burger. The focus is on Fayez, a confident and charismatic leader who brings the group together and serves them a large, satiating sandwich called "Mudabbal." The film ends with all four friends happily enjoying their meal together.

Fayez: A common Arabic name that also means winner and represents Herfy.

Mihrej: A play on the Arabic word clown to sound like a name and represents McDonalds.

Malek: A play on the Arabic word king to sound like a name and represents Burger King.

Sanid: The closest Arabic name to represent Colonel Sanders and represents KFC.

Mudabbal: The Herfy Mudabbal sandwich.

Star: Reference to the logo of QSR brand Hardees and not perceived to be in the same market share leadership race as the others.

A Game: Reference to the commonly played traditional 4-Player Saudi card game Ballot.

“Double”: a phrase commonly used in Ballot to challenge the opposing team and call for double points in the round / hand.

The Biggest: A common Saudi phrase that aims to highlight a person’s dominance in a certain field.

Narrator: This is Mihrej. The biggest clown in the game.

Clown: “Did the guys arrive?”

Narrator: He always arrives first and is ready with a plan! Those are Malek and Sanid. They don’t miss out on any chance. Sanid thinks he is the greatest, and always wastes his time on his secret plans.

Sanid: “I’m hungry”

Narrator: And this is Malek, the king of the game… or he likes to thinks so.

Malek: “I love to double it up"

Narrator: I’m Fayez, those are my friends, and we play the same game.

Fayez: “But not every double is Mudabbal”

Sanid: “Where is the star?”

Malek: “He’s not up to the game”

Fayez: Today the game has changed, and you will all know who the biggest is.
