Background
MOLODIST (translates as ‘youth’) is among the largest author and debut film festivals in Eastern Europe. It’s been uniting Europe’s intellectual and creative audiences for 50 years. But an outdated approach to the trademark style stopped matching the festival’s essence and attracting viewers. MOLODIST had to be made young again.
Describe the creative idea
When the world was young, its art was instinctive and primal because youth is always irrational and sensual. Youth constantly seeks experience. For this reason, it’s capable of creating fundamentally new things...
A design system for the 50th Kyiv International Auteur and Debut Film Festival. MOLODIST translates as ‘youth’.
Our design is irrational like youth and illogical like auteur films. However, it’s always bright and distinctive. Something unusual is happening nearby, and you must be there. Don’t miss out on MOLODIST!
Describe the execution
We split MOLODIST into two areas: a reputable organization with a history and a vibrant, unmissable event. We developed an unchanged platform for MOLODIST as a company, making the festival’s grand prize—a golden Scythian deer—its logo.
Meanwhile, the style of MOLODIST as an event was based on the prime matter that conveys a spectrum of emotions, images, and thoughts evoked by independent films.
This matter as a main symbol of the festival can be used in any way you wish - from different angles, zoomed, whole or some particular parts only.
Every time it looks different and evokes new emotions.

70,000 viewers online and offline.
120% of the planned number of tickets sold.
We combined classical and modern approaches within a single strategy. As a result, the perception of MOLODIST as a brand has become more integral and timely.
