CampaignDescription

So we started Snap Counsellors, the world's first teen abuse counselling helpline on Snapchat. On this platform, messages auto-delete in 10 secs, so teens can talk to a counsellor with complete privacy from their partners and parents.

Execution

We launched the campaign with a PSA on YouTube on 8th March 2016, Women's Day.

We leveraged Snapchat's 'Story' feature to send out daily images and videos to encourage teens to come out and talk about abuse.

We organised college workshops to create awareness about the issue and drive students to add us on Snapchat.

We spoke about the platform on TedX, Esade Business School, Barcelona, Spain.

Outcome

• The idea immediately caught the attention of the global media and teens around

the world.

• It was covered by major publications such as Huff Post, Mashable, Independent,

El Pais etc. creating global conversations around the use to technology to solve teen issues.

• The platform went from Indian to global

• Troubled teens from around the world started reaching out to us. We have counselled 2000+ teens already.

• Questions about teen abuse have increased 200% on our website. 400% increase in questions related to teen abuse overall with all teen counsellors.

• We are helping counsellors in the US, Spain and South America set up their own Snapchat helplines.

Strategy

So we started Snap Counsellors, the world's first teen abuse counselling helpline on Snapchat. On this platform, messages auto-delete in 10 secs, so teens can talk to a counsellor with complete privacy from their partners and parents.

Synopsis

Situation:

India has a serious teen relationship abuse problem which goes unreported. Teens do not report abuse because they are afraid of snooping partners and conservative parents. To add to the issue, India does not have a good counselling support system in colleges and schools.

Brief:

Give teens a discreet platform where they could talk about abuse and get advice.

Objectives:

Create a platform that is easily accessible, protects privacy and is trustworthy to teens.
