CampaignDescription

We worked with SIRIN LABS to create a secretive yet spectacular online launch experience for Solarin, the world’s most secure smartphone. A phone designed with a unique military-grade security shield inside the handset for the privacy conscious buyer. In true secret-agent style, the protection technology is activated by a unique ‘Security Switch’ on the back of the handset.

We created a site with two 'sides' that matched the features of the device.

The main experience highlighted the uncompromising quality of every single component and a hidden 'secure zone' broke the site down into a shielded secure mode and introduced the military grade security systems.

Execution

The introduction of Solarin began one month before the official launch. For the ‘most secure phone in the world’, there was complete black-out secrecy around the features of the handset. To build-up excitement alongside a wider PR and press campaign we created a teaser platform where we encased Solarin in a futuristic WebGL armoured force field that protected the phone. Visitors could interact with the force field to catch a glimpse of the phone inside. It glitched and pulsed with the 'energy' coming from the handset. A powerful layered soundscape added a cinematic feel to the experience.

On launch day, visitors could finally take a tour of the smartphone’s capabilities by exploding the protective forcefield. They could then explore the handset itself through a spectacular interactive 3D breakdown of the innovative features that make up the world’s most advanced phone. Visitors could explore the device and discover the craftsmanship, innovation and exceptional quality behind each component.

Finally, visitors could discover Solarin’s key feature, its unique secure zone: the Security Shield. A hidden button within the site launched the ‘secure zone’. On a click of the switch the entire visual experience 'breaks down' to match the retro styled secure-mode of the Solarin phone and introduces the military grade security systems.

The Solarin experience is a tour-de-force of WebGL graphics, art, animation and audio. A spectacular piece of cinematic interactive development that harks back to the days of epic Flash websites.
