Very few people ever get a chance to experience the power of an 80 piece orchestra or witness the ballet up close. The Google Cultural Institute's mission is preserve and promote art & culture. Partnering with over 60 institutions and iconic venues across the world we set out to provide access to the performing arts for everyone.
Using the latest 360º technology and immersive storytelling we put everyone on stage inside the performance like never before in 5 of the most iconic venues in the world.
Execution
We wanted to get as close as possible to making you feel like you have been transported to the city with the doors of the venue swinging open inviting you inside the performance. We used the latest 360º technology including seamless camera switching to immerse the viewer into never before seen angles and unique perspectives of the performances. We also included behind the scenes access to rooms most people never gain access to. Then go even deeper into the world of the performing arts with 190+ exhibits, 50+ locations on Street View, ultra-high resolution “gigapixel” photos and 9000+ cultural artifacts from around the world.
