The campaign film follows a man who is haunted by FOMO throughout his life after blacking out one night due to too much alcohol and missing the night of his life. Throughout the movie, his friends keep revisiting that one magical night, gradually unveiling new aspects of what actually happened, who they met and their new inside jokes. Eventually the man goes crazy, and the film ends with the payoff “Drink less, Miss less” thereby emphasizing that even though the film might be a bit far out in its telling, its message is one of clarity - an unhealthy drinking culture has longer-lasting effects than just a hangover.

Danish youth hold a sad European record in binge drinking. A staggering 40% of Danish 15-16-year-olds (compared to an average of 13% in Europe) report having been intoxicated within the last 30 days, which among other things means that every year more than 30.000 youngsters visit the emergency room due to alcohol consumption. A sad fact for an organization like The Danish Cancer Society, as alcohol increases the risk of cancer and more than 200 other diseases.

That’s why the Danish Cancer Society, together with TrygFonden, have set out on a journey to get the Danish youth to drink less.

Denmark is unfortunately well known for its drinking culture (recently cemented by the Oscar winning film ‘Last Round’), and young people in Denmark are among the most notorious in the world. That’s why the Danish Cancer Society and TrygFonden have focused a lot of their efforts on trying to prevent the unhealthy drinking culture prevalent among young people in Denmark with their ‘Fuld af liv’-campaign that launched in 2014. Many young Danes associate alcohol with parties and fun experiences. Nevertheless, many have experienced passing out, feeling sick, or black out, causing them to missevents like birthday parties, concerts with their favorite bands, or university orientation parties.

At a wedding reception, Lasse grabs the wedding cake and tears it apart whilst shouting. His mouth is full of cake and it is smeared all around his face.

LASSE

2 INT. KITCHEN - EVENING

LASSE stands nervously looking at Alma. ALMA takes a couple of beers out of the refrigerator. LASSE approaches Alma.

LASSE

Alma?

ALMA

Yeah. What’s up?

LASSE

I was just wondering if you have plans next week?

ALMA

No, nothing special. Why?

LASSE (smiling)

I was just … do you wanna…?

Lasse takes a deep breath, preparing to ask Alma out, but just as he's about to, the doorbell rings. Alma turns to answer the door, revealing Sofus. Alma greets Sofus at the door. Lasse, feeling slightly annoyed, observes for a moment before eventually approaching and giving Sofus a hug.

ALMA

Hi Sofus

SOFUS

Hey, what’s up?

How’s it going?

ALMA

Good

SOFUS

You look beautiful.

ALMA

Thanks

SOFUS

Come on Lasse

LASSE

I didn’t think you were coming?

SOFUS

Yes, of course. Good to see you.

3 INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

The friends are gathered around a table for pre-drinks. One of them raises his beer to make a toast. They raise their glasses together. Lasse and Sofus exchange a glance. Lasse discreetly watches Alma. Lasse tilts his head back and chugs the beer. Sofus takes a small sip and looks surprised at Lasse, who crushes his empty beer can and burps.

4 INT. BAR

Lasse and Sofus are seated together at a bar. Once again, Lasse downs his drink and struggles to control the cramps in his face caused by the strong beverage.

SOFUS

That’s nasty!

Maybe you should take it easy..

LASSE takes another sip of his drink.

MONTAGE

5 INT. APARTMENT – EVENING

Lasse and his friends are gathered to drink. Lasse is playing loud music. One of the friends is covering her ears. Alma is laughing.

VEGA

Lasse, turn it down!

You’ll wreck the speakers.

Lasse stands a little too close to Alma.

LASSE (drunk speaking)

Do you have any plans next week?

6. INT BATHROOM – EVENING

Lasse sits on the bathroom floor by the toilet vomiting with his head down between the toilet seat.

7 INT. APARTMENT - EVENING

Lasse, very drunk, struggling to keep his eyes open, glides through the apartment (as if he had roller skates on). He passes out on the sofa.

8 INT. LIVING ROOM - MORNING

Lasse lies on the sofa, still fully dressed from the night before. The sofa table is covered by empty beer cans. Sunlight streams in through the window.

FULL OF LIFE presents

A notification beeps. Lasse looks at his phone. We hear the sound of video messages: Laughter, "Lasse, get here right now! Look! Look! Do you see? This is crazy! You REALLY should have been here, Lasse!!

Lasse is hit by FOMO as he looks at all the messages and videos.

FOMO FOREVER

9 EXT. BEACH - AFTERNOON

Lasse walks along the beach carrying a stack of pizzas. He is meeting with his friends. He encounters Luca, who absentmindedly gazes into the air. Luca and Lasse hug whilst Sofus, Vega & Alma join to greet Lasse.

LASSE

Hey Bro

FRIENDS

Hi Lasse!

Finally!

LASSE

So what happened?

SOFUS

I mean what DIDN’T happen?

Friends giggling.

SOFUS grabs LASSE’s shoulder whilst looking towards Alma & Vega.

ALMA & VEGA

LASSE

What is it? What’s that?

Lasse looks puzzled. Luca, still gazing blankly into the air, begins to cry.

ALMA

What’s going on?

LUCA (CRYING)

Greatest night ever!

ALMA & VEGA put a comforting arm around Luca.

It really was!

LUCA (still crying and putting his hand on Sofus’ shoulders)

I can’t even …

SOFUS

Luca, Luca

You were a boss yesterday!!

LUCA (CRYING)

I’ve never experienced anything like it.

LASSE (standing in the background observing the four friends)

What’s going on Luca?

The four friends join in a group hug. Lasse watches with a strong sense of FOMO.

Suddenly Alma turns and kisses Sofus. Lasse looks shocked.

VEGA

They’re the cutest, right?

LASSE

Totally…

LUCA

You should have been there, Lasse.

Lasse's attention is on Alma and Sofus.

LASSE

What?

6 months after the night

10 INT. CAFE - DAY

The friends are gathered at a cafe, having a good time. Lasse passionately tells a story.

LASSE

Around the corner comes our old principal on rollarblades…

LUCA

Oh my god, that totally reminds me of that night last summer!

Alma, Vega and Sofus bursts into laughter …

ALMA

Totallly!

Alma points toward Sofus and breaks into laughter, unable to complete her sentence. Their group of friends burst into hearty laughter, while Lasse reclines slowly in his chair feeling left out from the conversation.

One year after the night

11 EXT BASKETBALL COURT – DAY

FRIENDS (YELLING)

Come on, Lasse. You got it.

Lasse is about to shoot a free throw when suddenly Alma spots someone she knows.

ALMA

Isn’t that…? Thats the Baron!

All the friends look in the same direction and excitedly run off the court to greet the Baron

BARON

Friends!

Friends, come here!

Lasse stops his shot and looks around in confusion. The friends run over to the Baron and hug him.

BARON

Good to see you again.

What a night!

Lasse looks curiously through the fence.

LASSE

Guys, who is it? Who’s that?

No one hears Lasse. The Baron puts his arms around Luca and looks him in the eyes.

BARON

Luca! Is your mum doing better?

LUCA

Yes, she is.

Lasse still standing behind the fence in the basketball court, is trying to take part in the conversation.

LASSE

Luca!

Luca, what's with your mom? What’s up with Luca’s mum?

BARON

Let’s breathe together

The friends form a circle and put their heads together..

LASSE

What are you doing? What’s happening? Looks weird. What are you doing?

The Baron moves on.

BARON

As the Baron walks away, they gaze at him with long, enamored looks.

12 INT. APARTMENT - EVENING

Friends sit around a table playing a board game. Suddenly Lasse notices a new tattoo on Alma’s arm.

LASSE

What’s that? Did you get a tattoo, Alma?

ALMA

Yeah, we all did…

LASEE

Really?

Friends hold their arms over the table, displaying their tattoos.

LASSE

What’s that?

FRIENDS

It’s bubble wrap. You can pop ‘em.

Lasse's smile fades as he sees the tattoos depict bubble wrap.

LASSE

I get it…

I totally get it.

7 years after the night

13 EXT. STREET - DAY

Luca lowers the convertible top on his fancy sports car, while Lasse stands there with a bicycle helmet, looking stunned.

LUCA

I got an investment tip that night

LASSE

That’s great

LUCA (whilst accelerating and making the engine roar)

Yeah

LASSE

A little impractical maybe.

As Luca drives away the license plate reads "B WRAP."

9 years after the night

14 INT. LIVING ROOM - EVENING

Lasse watches an interview on TV. The host holds up a book with a cover picture of Sofus’ face.

Irritated, Lasse turns off the TV and throws the remote against the wall.

15 INT. KITCHEN – EVENING

Lasse stands in a kitchen with a girl. He is showing her a bubble wrap tattoo on his arm. The tattoo doesn’t look as cool as his friends’ original bubble wrap tattoo. The girl seems impressed.

LASSE

GIRL

Are you in the Bubble Wrap Gang?

LASSE (proudly replies)

I am.

A friend comes over to the girl.

FRIEND

He’s not. He’s the one who got drunk and passed out.

The girl looks disappointed and walks away.

13 Years after the night

16 INT. WEDDING - DAY

Guests are gathered at the wedding party for Sofus and Alma. Sofus taps on his glass and stands up. Next to him, we see Alma in a white dress with a pregnant belly. Luca and Vega sit next to them at the same table. Lasse sits at another table.

SOFUS

Alma, my beautiful, wonderful wife with our little Bob in your belly I can’t help but think of that magical and unforgettable night we had all those years ago.

The bubble wrap group starts to giggle.

SOFUS

Do you remember?

FRIENDS (in unison)

Bubble wrap. Bubble wrap!

Sofus is interrupted by Lasse, who loudly clinks his glass and drops a knife on the table.

LASSE (irritated)

Lasse approaches the wedding cake.

ALMA

Lasse puts his hands in the wedding cake and starts eating it whilst shouting with his mouth full.

LASSE (continues)

”Look at me, I’m legendary. Im having a legendary night.”

Alma grabs her stomach in pain. She stands up as her water breaks.

The water broke!

Lasse keeps destroying the wedding cake while Alma screams in pain. Chaos erupts.

Lasse continues grabbing at the cake.

CUT TO

Lasse sitting at his table, quiet, listening to Sofus’ speech.

SOFUS

.. and finally, please raise your glass to my beautiful, lovely wife. Cheers in bubbles!

Lasse raises his glass and forces a fake smile. Everyone toasts together.

Inside the camper, everything is covered in bubble wrap from floor to ceiling. Lasse eagerly opens the package, revealing more bubble wrap. Smiling and laughing, Lasse pulls the bubble wrap out of the package.
