Motaur’s second year continues on with the dream of every motorcycle rider: Being one with your bike, so you never stop riding. He’s a mythical half-man, half-motorcycle. A visual manifestation of the core insight — a character who loves riding so much, he’s never away from his bike. We open with a striking visual of our hero Motaur, taking in the beauty of a stampeding herd. And then we realize why he’s so enamored. They’re Dirt Bike Motaurs. Does he know them? Are they his family? Are all Motaurs related? Brings up a lot of questions. It’s the dream of every rider witnessing his dream.

We worked with our production partner and director to bring the stampeding herd of dirt bike Motaurs to life. We had 10 stunt riders on set, riding back & forth all day to ensure we’d have enough footage to later build our giant herd. Each rider was shot against a green screen too. Our editorial partner helped assemble the footage and tell the story in a majestic :30 cut, coupled with an originally composed, & theatrical track from our music partner. The post-process was intensive. First, we removed the real riders from each bike, and married the upper body shots that were captured on green screen to achieve the look of dirt bike Motaurs. Then, we multiplied said dirt-bike Motaurs to achieve the level of scale we wanted. All VFX was done remotely because of COVID-19, & was a massive collaboration totaling almost 3400 hours of work.
