CampaignDescription

To provoke and start conversation about high blood pressure, the "silent killer", and give colour and shape to this disease, we made an outdoor installation: RED BALL, the world's longest-running street art work created by Kurt Perschke, which was for the first time ever used in the service of public health. We used the symbolism of this project to illustrate the danger of high blood pressure, placing the installations across Serbia.

Execution

We used a red ball to give color and shape to the most common symptom of high blood pressure so people could detect it before it’s too late. We made outdoor installations all over the country - Red Balls, the world's longest-running street art work created by Kurt Perschke, which was for the first time ever used in the service of public health. Outcome

After placing installations all over the country, high blood pressure is recognized as a disease on a national level for the first time. 300 health institutions are equipped with new blood pressure monitors. April 21 was proclaimed National High Blood Pressure Awareness Day.

Relevancy

Those who suffer from high blood pressure feel like their head is going to explode like an over-inflated balloon. We used a red ball as media to give color and shape to the most common symptom of high blood pressure so people could detect it before it’s too late. Strategy

Our target was national coverage by using only one symbol that will provoke huge attention, word of mouth and viral effect. We placed The Red in two main pedestrian streets and city squares in Belgrade, followed by national tour to 11 big cities in Serbia.

Synopsis

Every year in Serbia, about 50 thousand people die from the consequences of high blood pressure. It is equal to one smaller town that disappears every year. The other name for this disease is a "silent killer".

When it comes to unhealthy habits, people in Serbia might be the first in the world.

However, when it comes to taking care of our health, going to a doctor is usually the last thing we do.

Every second person has a high blood pressure. But it doesn’t stop them until they finally… burst.

Hemofarm Foundation wanted to raise awareness and decrease fatal consequences of high blood pressure before it's too late.
