The Daily Show with Trevor Noah provides late-night viewers with not only political satire and escapism, but also an honest point of view and is a source of trustworthy information. Leading up to the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, then-President Trump was facing countless lawsuits and investigations, ranging from corruption, to tax fraud, to voter suppression. To poke fun at Trump's mounting legal challenges, Comedy Central and The Daily Show took out full-page ads in the most prominent newspapers in the US: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times. The tongue-in-cheek creative, in the style of "personal injury attorney" ads, calls on "a soon-to-be-ex-President" to employ the services of "Trevor Noah & Associates & Sons," and included a working phone number connecting callers to the "law firm's" switchboard featuring pre-recorded satirical messages from Trevor Noah and show corespondents offering (that "soon-to-be-ex-President") free "legal advice".
