We hear the classic operator voice on the phone stating ‘The person you have called cannot be reached at the moment’

Ordinarily the call ends at that moment but in the radio voice continues to tell a nearly impossible scenario that roughly covers why that person may not be reached.

The imagination takes the audience from a car crash to a bear accident and falling off from a cliff and having amnesia and so on.

In the end voice ends with the message, ‘To make sure you don’t come up with such bad scenarios in your head while your loved ones don’t have signal, Turkcell’s signal power is in your service.’

Turkey is a collectivist country. You cannot see many people eating alone outside for example, or it is not the first thing in young people minds to leave home at 18.

And naturally family is a big issue and especially mothers are devoted to their children no matter what their age is. So when a mother tries to call and reach their children and they cannot, their imagination hits the ceiling. They always think the worst scenario.

We hear even worse stories. Yes, getting struck by lightning might be a small possibility but they may have slipped in the rain and hit their head, and lost their memory.

In fact, they may be sitting by some sea right now, desperately trying to remember who they are. For that reason, it’s best you try to call them later.
