CampaignDescription
What if we could capture the wind created by passing cars with roadside turbines, and turn it into usable energy?
Make The Future introduces Capture Mobility.
A wind turbine that harvests the energy of moving air created by passing traffic on busy roads and motorways and turns it into electricity.
Execution
Capture Mobility turbines harvest the wind thrust created by traffic, and turn it into electricity. The turbines are also topped with solar panels to add to the power generated.
Its removable filters capture the carbon particles from the air and clean the pollution by passing traffic.
So in addition to generating a clean energy, it can give us fresh air to breathe.
Outcome
Capture Mobility uses its turbines to harvest air movement created by vehicles to supplement local power grids, thereby recycling automotive energy and offsetting emissions from vehicles.
Portable enough for roadsides and rural areas and lining busy roads and motorways, Capture Mobility plans to generate enough energy in a day to run an average home.
Relevancy
Capture Mobility is an innovative device, supported by Shell, that addresses a real problem currently happening in the world.
Synopsis
By 2050, the world will need double its current energy supply.
We need to promote and power clean and better energy ideas.
And we need to do it together.
With nearly two billion cars in the world, it’s clear traditional vehicles aren’t going away anytime soon.
