Describe the creative idea
WeTransfer’s Ideas Report is a conversation with the global creative community that takes place once a year to find out what they’re really thinking, feeling and doing. It is one of the world’s largest studies about the global creative workforce.
Since 2018 the Ideas Report has bolstered WeTransfer’s position as an empathetic leader in the global creative community. Our first edition looked into where ideas happen, the 2019 report dug into how ideas are made, and 2020 looked into how uncertainty and doubt impact creative work.
Our 2021 Ideas Report revolves around the status of the creative world. As we’re living through a time marked by great change taking place over a small period, we wanted to know how it impacted the global creative community. The report is packed with data-rich insights that illuminate a creative landscape that prioritizes diverse voices, values-driven work, and corporate responsibility.
Describe the execution
WeTransfer streamlines the workflow process for millions of creative professionals. Its ecosystem of creative productivity tools makes it easy to collaborate, share and deliver work. WeTransfer has more than 87 million monthly active users in 190 countries.
For the WeTransfer Ideas Report, 10,000 creative professionals from 135 countries answered the survey. The survey was delivered through the WeTransfer advertising platform directly to our audience. 31% of respondents were designers, with a range of other creative fields represented including filmmakers, musicians, photographers, marketers, and advertising professionals.
Inspired by the tension that arises from old and new ways of living and an offline and online world, the design looks at how we find balance between the two via analogue and data driven processes. Analogue references are made to print making - halftone and textural elements, with data systems referenced via technical drawings and orbs which circle each insight.
WeTransfer’s purpose is to enable creative collaboration - yet creatives are emerging from the pandemic with less than rosey outlooks on the industry. The Ideas Report aimed to position WeTransfer as an empathetic brand uniquely able to forecast the needs of tomorrow’s creative workplace.
The report was shared via a dedicated microsite with support from WeTransfer wallpapers (advertising on WeTransfer.com), social media and earned media coverage.
The campaign launched on 3rd November 2021 and ran until 14th January 2022.
