CampaignDescription

Ecotonoha is a user-participation website for a tree planting campaign which involves participants writing messages to a virtual tree. A user adds a branch by clicking a mouse. The tree grows as users add messages in the form of leaves. NEC plants a tree on Australia's Kangaroo Island for each hundred participants. This participation via the website reflects NEC's activities as a business and as a global citizen. Thanks to 60,997 visitors from July 14 to December 25, 2003, 609 trees will be added to NEC's planting project in 2004. NEC, as an information technology leader in Japan, has wide-ranging IT business including manufacturing and sales of hardware products such as computers, communication equipment, and electron devices, development of software, solutions, and Internet-related business.
