REVOLVER, Sydney / TRANSPORT ACCIDENT COMMISSION / 2022
Overview
Credits
Write a short summary of what happens in the film.
Summer is the busiest time on Victorian roads for motorcyclists, and the new campaign is a timely reminder of how casual clothing such as sneakers, jeans and hoodies only protects riders for a fraction of a second in a crash.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Data from TAC shows that, on average, there are 2,500 motorcycle-related injury claims per year. Riders can, and do, travel unprotected at high speeds that other vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, simply cannot reach. Protective clothing is an important way to reduce the risk of injury, this film aims to show the real cost of a lax attitude to protective gear.
Tell the jury anything relevant about the direction. Do not name the director.
The film is visceral, intense and thought provoking. Action is slowed and magnified, giving us a graphic, but highly effective look at the mechanics of a crash when riders aren’t shielded by proper protective gear.
