We wanted to show that teaching kids in Little Tibet is totally different than in the Czech Republic as they get really excited about education.

So we shot a „documentary video“ about Tibetan kids who found a Czech Physics textbook. Despite not understanding a word in the book they start with experiments. They then turn the whole village upside down, which drives their parents crazy.

The main role in the whole story is played by an iconic Czech Physics textbook, easily recognizable by any Czech student and teacher as well. It’s a cultural reference that makes the video even more relatable to a Czech viewer.

Convince teachers to travel 6.700 km to Little Tibet was not the only obstacle of the whole project. Even getting the Czech production team there in the middle of December was a challenge. So we sent there just a really small group who had to cast people right in the place, whole families from Mulbekh with no experience with acting. There were lots of barriers we had to break like language, high attitude, different culture. But thanks to the great relationships of the NGO with locals and the purpose of the project, everybody involved enjoyed the whole ride. Of course, our team had to improvise with scenarios prepared in advance. We were super lucky, local people in Little Tibet are full of joy, super excited and really cooperative.
