The vibrantly eclectic approach to pictures for our poem (including shooting on various formats, from film to iPhone6!) created a unique challenge editorially, as the script didn't benefit from any core visual narrative, but instead zig-zagged like a crazed jazz drum solo...as much, the editor required "jazz hands" to improvise and feel the cut, rather than rely on any linear path.
BriefExplanation
"Snared" is an original poem we wrote about the provocative subject of love lost and the anguish and agony of emotional paralysis. This, in itself, created a unique challenge editorially, as the script didn't benefit from any core visual narrative, but instead zig-zagged like a crazed jazz drum solo...
EntrySummary
Like the BBC, the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) is a nationally funded broadcaster that has never ran advertising within its programming. So the challenge for us - when asked to promote its Arts Channel - was simple: how do you advertise a brand whose audience so clearly rejects advertising? The answer was to create art films.
