BriefExplanation

This year, Crocs and Drew Barrymore are celebrating everyone getting comfortable in their own shoes in Crocs: The Musical. As the first musical for Drew - and for Crocs- she had to step out of her comfort zone and get comfortable singing & dancing on camera. Throughout the video, we follow Drew through different scenes showcasing Crocs in various wearing occasions. From the red carpet to the promenade, her colorful notes pair with colorful clogs to light up the screen. In the end, Drew’s brave performance proves that when you’re comfortable in your own shoes, you can do anything.

EntrySummary

“Comfortable in your own shoes” is an American idiom that means to be comfortable, confident, and happy with who you are. It’s also Crocs’ brand promise in both the literal and metaphorical sense. This message couldn’t have come at a better time than in the current social media era. Moms post their great moments but rarely the tough ones. People spend more time posing for the perfect picture at the gym than actually working out. This leaves others comparing themselves to the curated versions of their friends. Crocs: The Musical unapologetically celebrates what makes each of us unique – encouraging people everywhere to feel good about themselves and their Crocs no matter what other people think.

MediaSpend

Crocs’ Come As You Are campaign is all about getting comfortable in your own shoes. The campaign started when our copywriter was unexpectedly asked to sing her lyrics to Drew Barrymore over the phone.

From that moment, Crocs: The Musical was born. A full-length song was written, and each verse was crafted to target a unique audience: stylish women, athleisure enthusiasts, travelers, and moms. Whimsical piano strokes plus a classic big-band sound made the song delightfully infectious. Each verse even became its own mini-musical.

Best of all, actress Drew Barrymore had to get comfortable recording the track in Capitol Music Group's legendary Studio B. Her daring act and authentic voice made Crocs’ message that much more special, “just get comfortable in your own shoes.”
