THE MONKEYS, Sydney / MEAT & LIVESTOCK AUSTRALIA / 2018
Overview
Credits
BriefExplanation
A typical Australian barbecue is threatened by a showdown between the political right and left – represented as Broadway musical style street gangs. With the stage set, Australia’s diverse opinions go head to head, but neither side can win against Lamb’s power to bring us together around the ‘barbie’. Proving that what unites us is way more delicious than what divides us.
EntrySummary
Australians. We’re known for being a laid-back lot. But not in 2017. As political division swept the globe, even we lost the plot - with opinions on the far left and the far right dominating headlines and ruining dinner-time conversations. We wanted to remind people there’s still one thing all Australians can agree on. Lamb.
So, as a brand with a history of poking fun at national issues through the established ‘YOU NEVER LAMB ALONE’ platform, we decided to turn the whole ridiculous song and dance of Australia’s culture wars, into a ridiculous song and dance. Literally.
