Cultural / Context information for the jury
Courtney Tulloch began training as a gymnast when he was just six years old. Now aged 26, he is the Commonwealth Games champion on rings (with two signature moves named after him) and a proud member of the Team GB Olympic squad.
When he’s not training, Courtney is busy mentoring others using digital platforms, namely YouTube and Instagram. These platforms play an important role in his work, allowing him to post tutorials, share news of voluntary work and empower the next generation of athletes.
Crafting a brand with motion and typography at the heart was as much about capturing Courtney’s physical abilities as it was about standing out in this digital world.

Tell the jury about the typography.
Courtney Tulloch does things other gymnasts can’t. The proof? He’s got two moves named after him (the T1 and T2). He pushes his body to the limits. And it’s made him a champion.
Our task was to craft a typeface that could speak the gymnast’s language. It would need to be uniquely ownable to Courtney - helping to elevate his profile on digital platforms and far beyond gymnastics.
Tulloch One and Two are the result of 3D modelling, motion and traditional type design coming together. Every character is inspired by the visual language of the rings, as well as Courtney’s performances on them.
Just like Courtney’s moves, the striking typefaces give the impression of impossibility when in motion. It’s only when you see the letterforms rotate 360° that they become comprehensible.
