We realized that most people have a lot of forgotten digital profiles and old accounts that they don´t use anymore.

We thought that if they eliminate all that forgotten data it will cause a huge impact in order to help our planet.

So, we created a movement to destroy data.

It´s called The Data Takedown

An online platform that allow people to search their own forgotten accounts and help them to eliminate all the accounts that they are not using anymore.

Execution

This is how it works.

You enter your name and nicknames in the platform.

It have a search engine that we created to find every possible account and profile that could be yours.

Then it allows you to recognize which data is yours and tells you your digital carbon footprint.

With all this data then it helps you to eliminate the data giving you tutorials and explanations of all must do to recover passwords and destroy the data.

After that it share your new digital footprint in all your social media.

Presenting you as a digitally responsible person.

Outcome

This is a destruction of data on a massive global scale with huge a direct impact on the earth´s environment.

80% of the people in the world don´t need 80% of the data they own.

If 1 on 10 people in the world destroy 50% of their data two nuclear plants would close down today.

By this day, millions of people around the world are destroying their data in order to save the world and we put this issue in people´s minds for the first time.

Relevancy

The WWF Data Takedown is an activation driven by cyber and data to protect our planet.

This work consist in a new personal use of data in order to make an instant and direct response in the public. The research and interpretation of forgotten data is key fact in this project.

This idea generate interaction and consumer participation in an activity to resolve a huge problem.

Strategy

This idea is possible because of the use of data.

Its incredible how people don´t realize the importance of data and the good use of it.

The implementation of this idea is not easy but its simple.

All the search of data was made with a really simple technology that we created, the interpretation and integration was made by us in partnership with the public and it made people react in a quick response with the elimination of the unuseful data.

Synopsis

Everybody knows what to do to be environment responsible with the planet.

Some people ride bicycles instead of cars, other people never print and another ones turn off lights every time they remember.

But, are we digitally responsible?

No.Why?

Nobody thinks of that but Data Farms are a big problem in the world right now.

All digital data are stored in servers in those Big Data Farms that are all over the world and that need huge cooling systems to run.

These cooling systems consume a lot of energy and are a really dangerous weapon against our planet.
