Execution

Rather than create another boring bandwidth calculator, we built a platform with a bit more personality. The WiFi-Denti-Fier is a light-hearted, interactive browser experience that helps people find the Internet plan that fits them best. Users just describe themselves, their households and what kinds of devices they use and the WiFi-Denti-Fier does the rest. Using original 3D characters and animations (that were conceived, created and developed in-house), the experience creates a personalized plan recommendation. The site works on tablet and mobile as well, so users can connect on any device.

Strategy

Time Warner Cable had a perception problem. The brand lacked a human touch; it was all utility and no heart. To reconnect, Time Warner wanted to help answer the one question that every customer seemed to have: “Why is my Internet so slow?” This could have been answered with a simple bandwidth calculator, but we felt that this would be the perfect opportunity to do something that would start humanizing the brand. The WiFi-Denti-Fier is the first step in building a new brand voice for Time Warner Cable, one that connects the company with its customers and helps to change the perception that the brand is unsympathetic to their subscribers’ needs.
