1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. But 8 in 8 men don’t like the idea of getting a prostate exam from a doctor, even though it can save their lives. It’s too uncomfortable. So this radio spot gives men detailed instructions for the alternative to a doctor: asking your mom to do it.

As a doctor, I know getting your prostate checked can help with early detection of prostate cancer … but a lot of men don’t like the idea of a stranger putting a finger in their rectum.

So here’s an alternative:

Get your mom to do it.

‘Hey mom, I thought it would be a great idea if we got together and you investigated my rectum for a little bit?’

She wiped your bum when you were young, surely she won’t mind sticking her finger in it now.

But she’ll also tell you to go to see a doctor instead.

Go see your doctor. It may save your life.
