This spot shows a man stopping by his boss’s office. He explains that he isn’t feeling well and is going to have to take a sick day tomorrow – but he’ll be checking email if anything important comes up. He waits for his boss’s response but gets nothing. The camera then cuts to reveal that he was actually talking to his toddler son. A super comes on screen: Dads don’t take sick days. Dads take NyQuil.

Because there’s one job on the planet where you truly can’t take a sick day, you can rely on NyQuil to help you get a good night’s sleep even with a cold.

Synopsis

In the past year, many competitors have entered the category, creating clutter while they all position themselves as a leader. This combined with strict federal rules on what we can say leaves a small space to prove that we work better than our competitors. To break through the noise, we created the ultimate torture test that shows the one job on the planet where you can’t take a sick day – when you’re a parent. This campaign has reassured consumers – whether parents or not that NyQuil provides the power they need, so sick days are a thing of the past.
