This animated video recreates excerpts from the Resident Evil 4 game story.

Episode 1: Looking for Ashley

Agent Leon, who works exclusively for the American president, takes care of the president's missing daughter Ashley.He came to a village to find her.The village he arrive at is the home of villagers whose bodies have been taken over and turned into monsters by the cult group Los Illuminados. Will Leon be able to find Ashley and escape safely from the village?

Background:

In the spring of 2023, game maker Capcom released ``Resident Evil 4’’.

Our goal is to make this work a hot topic among game fans, and new users.

Actually, Resident Evil 4 is a game software released in 2005.The game software Capcom released in the spring of 2023 is a revival version of Resident Evil 4 that has been revived using the latest technology.We thought that a simple release announcement would not make fans interested in the revival version.

Therefore, we focused on the fact that Resident Evil 4, which was released in 2005, has been called a "masterpiece" by fans. We wanted to convey with an impact that the latest work, Resident Evil 4, is as much a "masterpiece" as the original work.

Therefore, we collaborated with the anime series "World Masterpiece Theater", which everyone associates with "masterpieces" in Japan. We created a parody anime of "Masterpiece Theater."

Japan is one of the world's leading producers of animation contents.In japan, there is famous animation series called “World Masterpiece Theater” which has a history of about 50 years. This animated series reborn world-famous stories such as `A Dog of Flanders'' and ``Anne of Green Gables'' into animated works for domestic fans.

And this series is content that everyone was familiar with as a child in Japan.

In order to convey that Resident Evil 4 is a great game software that game fans should play, we collaborated with the “World Masterpiece Theater” which is a ``masterpiece'' series that every Japanese person knows.

That's why we created was “RESIDENT EVIL MASTERPIECE THEATER“.

When making ``Resident Evil Masterpiece Theater“, we aimed for a finish that was reminiscent of the old animation that was produced using hand-drawn animation cels. Fans from all over Japan were delighted with the high quality, saying it was like the ``World Masterpiece Theater'' of the past.

Furthermore, we incorporated into the story ``common things from Resident Evil 4'' that fans were talking about on social media. For example, ``The villagers' Spanish sounds like Japanese,'' ``The heroine Ashley is repeatedly taken away by the enemy,'' and ``The helicopter that comes to rescue the protagonist always crashes.'' Fans were happy that Capcom adopted these “common things” and actively spread the information.

Among the animation works produced in Japan in the spring of 2023, “RESIDENT EVIL MASTERPIECE THEATER“ became the work that attracted the most attention.

We collaborated with Nippon Animation, the animation studio that produces the animated work "World Masterpiece Theater," which is loved by many people in Japan for about 50 years.

We have faithfully recreated the character design reminiscent of famous characters of yesteryear, such as the Dog of Flanders, and the worldview of the famous theater that everyone knows.

Our work was created with a quality that stands out from many other anime commercials, with a thorough attention to detail, such as unique colors and contour drawings that could only be achieved by hand-drawing at the time.
