The film "Ski the world" follows free ride ski legend Candide Thovex on his journey across

30 locations in 10 countries. He rides down sand dunes, grass hills, through the jungle,

across water and even the Chinese Wall. All on skis and without any snow. All we hear is the sound of his surroundings and his skis carving on the ground. What we see is simply spectacular.

Audi's aim was to stage their quattro technology in a completely new and fascinating way.

And live up to the global claim "All conditions are perfect conditions". With legendary films

and pieces of communication, the bar was set high. So they collaborated with freestyle ski

legend Candide Thovex. Developed skis that work on every surface. And went around the

world: 14 months, 30 locations, 10 countries. All this was put into a film and spread on social media.

The challenge for the edit of "Ski the world" was to connect 30 locations in 10 countries

that were filmed over 14 months to let them seem like one single smooth ski ride. In order

to do so elements like caves were used, doors and changes of perspectives and angles to

connect the scenes seemlessly and hide transitions. A combination of epic wide shots in

contrast to close ups and POVs of the athlete really brings the viewer in the action and let

the 4:29 minutes pass by in a flash.
