The cinematography plays a pivotal role in the film, allowing the viewer to join our central character on her journey with MS. We wanted to keep it intimate, up close and personal, so the viewer could feel the same emotions the central character experiences, at the same level of intensity. We needed the patient’s life to be real and representative, rather than artificial or constructed; a life the viewer could relate to. This was achieved through considered lighting and flowing camera movements that follow the natural movement in each scene. The lighting was also carefully adapted to complement the passing of time, from 1998 until now. The result is a meticulously crafted piece of cinematography that speaks to the viewer on a deep and emotional level.

The film follows one patient’s journey, from the time she is diagnosed with MS in 1998, up until the present day. It is not a brand story but an emotional story of her life, full of the usual ups and downs, such as the birth of a child and the loss of a parent. And whilst being diagnosed with MS is part of that journey, her condition does not define her. Thanks to the treatment and support Merck provides, she can live her life the way she chooses.
