A two-minute Doritos ad featuring a father who suspects his son is gay is going viral with its message of loving others just the way they are.

ON BLACK SCREEN: Sound of a phone call waiting to be taken.

Javier is on the phone, laying against the trunk of the car. Red brake lights reflect on his face.

Father: Hello?

Javier: Hey Dad, it’s me.

Father: Javier, Are you on your way?

Javier: Yes, we are half way there.

Cut to Manuel walking out of a mini market in the middle of the road. He carries a bag of Doritos and some water. We keep on hearing the conversation.

Father: Who are you with?

Javier: I’m with Manuel, a friend from University. He didn’t have plans for Holidays so I thought it was a good idea to invite him.

Father (surprised): Sure son, no problem….

Javier: I have to go now, see you tomorrow.

Both Manuel and Javier get into the car.

Morning after, Javier and Manuel arrive, they go with the father to do some shopping, the father starts noticing something strange, how they get along with each other, they look more than friends.

We see the father running. Cut to the father writing on a computer.

Jorge (V.O): Hello, I’m a 52 year old divorced father. And I need some help.

I think my son and his friend are a couple and he won’t tell me.

We see Javier and Manuel, riding a horse, laughing, hanging.

Jorge (V.O): They’ve been staying for a few days now, and although they try to hide it, they haven’t succeed.

The father and a man, look at each other.

The three of them are sitting at a local café. The waitress approaches to take the order. Jorge asks for a coffee.

Manuel: What do you want honey?

From the other side of the window, we feel the tension from inside the café.

Night. Alone in his room, Jorge types on Reddit while we hear his V.O.

Jorge (V.O): How can I let them know that everything is ok.

Jorge (V.O): I just can’t find the right time…

The next morning, Javier is having a cup of coffee in the kitchen. Jorge approaches his son for a chat.

Father: Hey son?

Javier: What’s up dad?

Father: Can I have a word?

Javier: Tell me.

Father: I wanted to tell you that… I love you.
