Write a short summary of what happens in the film

Tony is a Googler and a child of deaf adults, aka a "CODA." Both of Tony's parents were born deaf. Tony was not. When people in the hearing world learn this about Tony, they always want to know more, and ask questions like "How many people are deaf in the world" (466 million), or "hello in sign language".

The film explains how Tony has always had one foot in the deaf world, and one in the hearing world. Fluent in ASL, Tony translated a lot for his parents growing up, which made them close.

Since COVID lockdowns have begun, Tony has become a father himself. Google tools like Live Caption in Google Meet and videos allow him to communicate with his parents and allow them to connect to their grandson, even though they were apart for over a year.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

With COVID vaccinations rolling out across the US, Tony was recently able to reconnect in person with his parents, and they got to meet their grandson Owen for the first time.
