The Match of Ages is a brand new 90-minute game, edited in post-production, between the two biggest rivals in Mexico with the best plays, goals, superstars from 1950 to 2020. We edited 70 hours of footage, 24 hours a day, for 45 days based on players’ moves, location on the field and speed.
In partnership with the biggest network in México, it aired on primetime TV and streamed live, bringing soccer back to Mexicans.
Please tell us how the work was designed / adapted for a single country / region / market.
Sundays are one of the favorite days for soccer fans in Mexico.
People gather at their homes to watch the games, and those who can go to the fields wait all week to go. But Covid-19 caused the leagues in Mexico and around the world to be suspended, leaving all these fans without the possibility of doing what they loved so much.
The Match of Ages was designed solely for Mexico, using iconic moments between two massive rivals that every Mexican soccer fan would know and love.
That’s why its TV broadcast was only in that country, though Mexicans living abroad could watch along via online streaming.
